  • Whole bean, Guatemala Terroir

Lëtz Coffee Whole bean, Guatemala Terroir

    3 reviews

This blend of Arabicas from the Huehuetenango region has all the qualities of the terroir: lively acidity, very marked fruity and floral notes. At 2,000 meters above sea level, Huehuetenango sits at the crossroads of warm air sweeping eastward from the plains of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, Mexico, and cool air sweeping down from the mountains Cuchumatanes, which creates a microclimate that slows down frost, allowing coffee growing at altitude. These conditions are perfect for producing Arabicas with lively acidity and fruity notes, typical of the region. In this remote region, most producers process their coffees themselves; the abundance of streams and rivers greatly facilitates the production of washed (Fully Washed) coffees. The cherries are picked by hand and pulped on site, generally using small manual or electric crushers. After fermentation, the grains are rinsed with water to remove any remaining mucilage. The water used is filtered so as not to contaminate local waterways. The grains are then dried, either on tables or on patios.

Knopes Whole bean, Griselda Rioja, Peru

Experience the rich flavors of freshly roasted coffee from the high-altitude farms of Peru, crafted for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate true specialty coffee. This exceptional lot, selected by Knopes and available through RoasterCup, comes from Griselda Nimia Rioja Tarrillo, a dedicated coffee producer in Perlamayo, Cajamarca. Grown at an impressive 1,978 meters above sea level, this coffee originates from her farm, El Barejon, a two-hectare plot nestled in the lush landscapes of South America. The beans undergo a meticulous washed processing method: after harvest, the coffee cherries rest for 24 to 40 hours before pulping, followed by a 24-hour fermentation in bags. They are then washed twice and carefully dried on raised tables for approximately 30 days, ensuring optimal flavor development. Crafted from Caturra and Pache varieties, this Peruvian specialty coffee delivers a refined cup profile with delightful tasting notes of juicy peach, ripe cherry, and smooth vanilla. Each sip embodies the dedication and craftsmanship behind small-scale farming in South America, making this a must-try for coffee lovers seeking unique flavors.
