Whole bean, Brazil Jaguara Estates Santa Lucia Microlot

Description

This microlot, named "Crazy Coffee," comes from the Santa Lucia farm, located at an altitude of 1200 meters in the Três Corações region (Minas Gerais), owned by the Jaguara group. We have been collaborating with them for two years now, offering one of their coffees under our 1936 label.

This farm is managed by a family of producers who began growing coffee in 1960. Since then, three generations—grandparents, parents, and grandchildren—have worked together in the fields and processes, focusing on specialty coffees and using various methods to produce coffees of very high quality.

In 2019, the farm won fifth place in the COE competition for the best coffee in Brazil, with a score of 90.47, thanks to an innovative process under the Crazy Coffee label. Today, the Jaguara group strives not only to produce quality coffees but also to improve the lives of workers by adopting farming practices as organic as possible and by restoring all available natural resources.

This year's harvest, composed of the Arara variety, underwent a natural (dry) anaerobic process, offering cups with notes of marmalade, pineapple, and grape.
