Ground coffee, Kabogo Organic, Congo

Description

Discover the new coffee selection of Knopes, from the lush lands of Idjwi Island, nestled in the heart of Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On this island, water is a true treasure, essential to local life and the production of this exceptional coffee. At an altitude ranging from 1500 to 2200 meters, the Ngula Washing Station, in collaboration with members of the SCPNCK cooperative, uses the island’s streams and rivers to craft a double-washed coffee.

This process involves extended underwater fermentation, followed by meticulous washing, ensuring a coffee of remarkable clarity and purity, mirroring the crystal-clear waters of the surrounding mountains. "Kabogo," which means "stream" in Kihavu, embodies the producers' deep respect for their natural environment.

Organically grown, this coffee will surprise you with its delicate aromas of blueberry, sugarcane, and apple.
