Whole bean, Fruit Fever, Ethiopia, Woodster

Description

The Tabe Burka coffee washing and drying station, located near the town of Suke Waraqata in the Guji appellation, is at the heart of Ethiopia's coffee-growing tradition. The coffee here is sourced from local farmers working within a 10 to 20 km radius of the station, cultivating their crops in orchards within a region with a rich history of coffee production.

In the Ethiopian highlands, the fertile soils support a mixed farming system where farmers grow food crops and coffee side by side. A key feature of this system is the enset (false banana tree), which stores water in its trunk for months. Positioned among the coffee trees, it maintains constant humidity across the plots, helping the coffee plants endure dry spells and thrive in this unique environment.

Woodster Coffee Roasters is proud to offer this exceptional coffee that reflects Ethiopia’s innovative and sustainable farming methods, as well as its rich heritage.
